Puzzle revisited Middlegame, tactic I posted this puzzle a few days ago. It seems that many of you have difficulties with it. Here is a hint. Black to play and draw. Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
1…Rg4+ KxN 2…Qe4+ Kf6 3…Rf8 mate
OR
1…Rg4+ PxR 2…Qe4+ Kg3 3…Qxg4+ Kh2 Nf3+ and mate next move
cfd above has it wrong.
1…. Rg4+
2. hxg4 wins for white.
2……Qe4+
3. Kg5 Qxg4
4 Kf6 Qxh5
5. Rxe6+ dxe6
6 Rxd8+ Kxd8
7. Qxe5 Qh6
8. Kd7
white wins this.
1. …Qe4+
2. Kxg5 Nf7+
3. Kg6! (Kf6 Qh4+ etc … and mate)
and f4+ give a draw game.

Qe4+ Kxg5
Nf7+ Kg6
f4+ Kg7
Qg2+ Kh7
Qe4+ Kg7
Qe4+ Kxg5
Nf7+ Kg6
f4+ Kg7
Qg2 Ng3
fxg3 fxg3
Qxg3+
1…Qe4+
2.Kxg5 Nf7+
3.Kg6 f4+
4.Kg7 Qg2+
5.Kh7 Qe4+ (5.Ng3?! fxg3.. not so clear)
6.Kg7 Qg2+…
I don’t see anything better than draw by repetition
White could play worse:
3.Kf6?? Qh4+ 4.Kg7 Qg5+ 5.Kh7 Qh6+ 6.Kg8 Ke7# (a wonderful discovered mate given by the king…)
or
4.Kf6?? Qf5+ 5.Kg7 Qg5+ 6.Kh7 Qh6+ 7.Kg8 Ke7# (a king hunt; again with the great discovered mate!)
Have a nice day
Nobody that is considering Qg2+ is considering Ng3 as a defence? Why?
Is Knf7 good (threating mate in e4) ?
