This will be Andre Agassi’s last US Open. He will be the fan favorite but I just do not think that he has enough to even reach the semi. I hope he does. I am a fan of his.

My pick is Federer over Nadal in the final.
On the women side, things are more complicated. The #1 seed is Mauresmo. The #2 seed is Henin-Hardenne. The #3 seed is Sharapova. Any of them can win on any given day. I am not comfortable with Mauresmo on the biggest tennis stage. She will face Sharapova in the semi if everything goes as planned.
The only threat for Henin-Hardenne in the bottom draw is the #10 seed Davenport. However, Davenport just got injured this past weekend so I am not sure what shape she would be in. Therefore, I pick Henin-Hardenne over Sharapova in the final. 
It’s hard to bet against Roger Federer, but Andy Roddick usually plays well at the Open. It may be Maria Sharapova’s time, but watch out for unseeded Serena Williams. She may sneak thru the draw and do some damage.
