This reminds us of how the world can forever change because of war. That is why I am committed to Chess for Peace. Let’s settle our differences through chess and not violence or war.
a very nice idea Susan – but in my opinion there are a few other things:
1)learn languages – try to speak to your next – learn to speak to your next – learn to listen to your next
2)study history – try to learn from history – learn the way historical knowledge prevents disastrous thoughts – learn from history how to prevent disastrous activities
3)never forget – but try to forgive – and try to live without prejudices
chess may help – no doubt – but it rests on us (not unly US!)- world wide – to raise this hopes… (not only by chess – i assume … )
I recognize Topalov as World Champion. However, I am still an Anand fan. I would love to see Anand at the top and world champion. then once he makes those 2 things, I will be happy and Topalov can take over for the longer term.
However, there are some young people moving up very quickly. I dont know if Topalov can stay King of the Hill for too many years.
If Topalov has to defend his title in a Tournament against a group of people then there is more chance he will lose his title than if he were to play a match against a challenger. I would like to see Anand play a challenge match against Topalov.
Just a note: I would like to see the championship crown be unified first. and so I would support a match between Kramnik and Topalov first to get the crown unified.
Regarding your first post, then why so easily did you try and “judge” me with what you in your own words, call an “act of war” in a recent thread on Daily Dirt. Not only that, but when the truth was presented to you by other’s than myself, you didn’t have enough decency, peace, and “love within youself” to apologize. Your the one that just “walked away”! If one doesn’t practice what he preaches, he’s a hypocrite.
On more than one occasion in the past, I’ve gone to bat for you because of what I thought was a sincere nature, well, now I have found out otherwise. In the future, regarding my posts, please do myself and other a favor and keep your opinion’s to yourself.
Solving differences through chess? I would like to see the heads of all those military active countries go to chess clubs and train for state battles! Imagine that… 🙂
I have to agree with Celtic. Peace is wonderful, but you have to have peace & freedom together. If you someone evil wants to attack you, then you have to defend yourself. You can’t just sit back at let yourself be repeatedly attacked.

no war – no never!
tempered, your Vohaul
I believe Chess for Peace is Great. Anything and everything that contributes to Peace is GOOD.
Vohaul I agree with all you say also.
My take is a little different.
I try to not look at anyone else. looking at others always leads to judgment. I try to experience Love inside of me at all times.
If every person in the world would experience Love inside of themselves it would transform the world.
I believe God is Love is Peace.
Any and all judgements I might hold for my brother is an act of war. Love for my brother is Peace.

a dreamcatcher (?) – your Vohaul
(we – the constituent – we – the folks – we are the world – not some stupid, power craving politicians.
we have election power to select them – they reign and rain (^^) in our names …
we have the power to stop them, too )
