Nine Azerbaijani chess players to compete in France

12th men’s championship of Europe in chess to involve nine Azerbaijani chess players will be held in Aix-les-Bains (France) on 22 March-2 April.
Our country will be represented by Rauf Mammadov, Gadir Huseynov, Eltaj Safarli, Nijat Mammadov, Rufat Bagirov, Vasif Durarbeyli, Namik Guliyev, Kenan Izzet and Nijat Abbasov.
The contest will involve more than 400 sportsmen. By the result of the contest 23 best players will get a pass to the World Cup. The prize fund of the European championship equals EURO 114,000.
