The 25th Erfurt Chess Festival is going to take place from December 26-30, 2015, at the Radisson Blue Hotel Erfurt, Germany.
The event is organized by ESV Lok Sömmerda, in cooperation with the Radisson Blu Hotel Erfurt. It is split in four different groups:
Master Tournament – for players rated above 1900 DWZ or Elo rating;
Main Tournament – for players rated below 2000 DWZ rating;
Amateur Tournament – for players rated below 1600 DWZ rating;
Seninor Tournament – for players born 1955 or earlier.
The Master Tournament is an 8-round Swiss format with first prize in amount of 1.025 €. GM, IM, WGM, WIM & players with a rating higher than 2400 with no entry free. There are special conditions for a restricted number of titulars.
The prize pool of 6.175 € (36 cash prizes) is guaranteed with at least 175 paying players. The first to the third place in each tournament get in additional a trophy of lead crystal.
Registration should be done at www.erfurter-schachfestival.de. It is also possible to register via e-mail, telephone, post or on-site. The pre-registration is advisable because the number of participants is limited to 416. Last year, we reached that limit nearly with 407participants!
