Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Congrats Wes! Keep it up!
Thank you, Susan!
Goodluck Wes! Itayo mo ang bandila natin! Fred Borja – BPI Chess Club
Well…I would never have in a million years thought that Wesley would take Chucky down. That’s great!
But it’s only one game. There’s the second game and you know that Chucky is going to be pissed and loaded for bear. Hope Wesley can hold the draw.
What made the win more impressive was that Wesley played black. Let’s now see Chucky force a win with black himself. At worst, the match will go to the rapids, where Wesley is very competitive.
Beware the power of Filipino Pacman Wesley So!!
Chucky now remembers the power of Wesley So, and the Filipino Conqueror of Odessa, Ukraine, Grandmaster Rosendo Balinas.
Wesley’s rapid game is search and destroy.
He blank Guseinov (2625) as in TKO-outclass in blitz!
Ivanchuk should play his very best in the second game
Chucky is being chucky again. Going nuts with little time instead settle for a perpetual. Chucky will always be chucky, he can beat anyone and lose to anyone.
All Chucky needed was a hard stiff drink. Like his American counterpart “Popeye”, Chucky simply needs a strong dose of “Spinach” in this case Vodka and it would have been over in an instant. Chucky is a superhero in disguise.
After Wesley dumps Chucky 2-0, Chuck will drink all the Russian vodkas.
Wesley is the PACMAN Pacquiao in disguise.
WOW! Great game for Wesley. How I wish that Wesley will maintain the momentum and finally chunk out the mighty Ivanchuk. Hang on there!!
Fil-Canadian
Replay the game and you’ll see Chucky avoided draw which proved a bit exagerated.
Well i’m French , but i love Pacman (Manny the boxer ) !!Fantastic sportsman and human being really 😉
Back to chess , it’s indeed quite an achievement for anyone who can beat such a encyclopedia of chess as Vassili Ivanchuk ! .
Good work Wesley So and good luck for your career , this victory is certainly a very good encouragement , it will be boost his confidence
Great job!
Serves Chucky right for playing the exchange french!
the flip got lucky.. chucky will come back and kick this kids head in.. a win because someone avoids a repeptition is no reason to pat yourself on the back. you didnt actually win. chucky just beat himself.
before you philipinos start bragging like you always do when someone from your little island does well remember ukraine is number 2 in the world and your country is 32 on the fide country rankings. one game doesnt mean anything.. in fact your country is below greece and uzbekistan.. lmao.. lets keep it real.
Hey Wolverine:
First of all, it’s “Filipino”, not “Philippino” and the Philippines is an archipelago of 7,000 islands, not a single island. And bringing up the fact that Ukraine is No. 2 and Philippines No. 32 is immaterial. We’re talking about one game between two people.
Unfortunately, your ignorance doesn’t stop you from being right about a couple of things:
1. Filipinos do tend to brag. To make a comparison between Wesley and Pacman is premature at best. Pacquiao is one of the very best in the world in what he does…Wesley is still trying to get there.
2. It’s only one game. In a ten game match, I’m sure Chucky would take Wesley down. The match isn’t over and as I said earlier, Chuky is going to come out next game looking for blood.
Ukraine is no 2 in chess.
Philippines is no 1 in hospitality. You’d be welcome over there, however rude you are.
Let the Pinoys celebrate the 15 year old’s victory over the great Ivanchuk.
Nothing can be taken from Chucky; we’re all fans of Vasily and his aggressive style, much like So’s style.
“Never in a million years” is a bit of an exaggeration.
With 100 rating points difference, So is expected to score 0.36 points per game against Chucky. 1 win against 2 losses would do that.
I didnt make any comparison with pacquiao you idiot. whether its an island or a group of islands is not relevant. When i mention an island i mean all the islands that make up the country you babbling idiot.. bringing up the fact ukraine is number 2 is very relevent. if the flips are going to brag about there player whos representing there country then it does make a difference what ranking the country has. When they brag there essentially bragging about there country.. your to stupid to realize thats whats going on.
yeah, people, easy on wolferine who is from the ukraine mafia, who resorts to kiddie name calling, when a 15 year old kid beats his daddy.
wolferine is really a 15 year old high school drop out chess player wannabe, with an elo of zero.
if you look deep into his ramblings, he does not make sense, but just whines and call people names.
watch, he is going down again, and throw a tantrum. heh, heh.
You keep on calling everyone an idiot but your posts clearly show that you’re the biggest idiot of all. And very clearly gay, I might add. Your choice of pseudonym (ever seen that word?) reveals that you’re an Ex-Man.
In any case, Wesley So will beat Chucky, and there’s nothing your gay rants can do about that.
Wolverine read this as your history lesson no. 1 before you sleep, written by Ukrainian GM and journalist Mikhael Golubev:
There was amazingly a Filipino phenom, who shocked not only the Ukraine, but Russia in 1976. It was the late Grandmaster and Philippine champion Rosendo Balinas who won the 1976 Odessa, USSR now Ukraine, International Chess Tournament, undefeated by Ukranian and Russian chessplayers.
The Great Filipino Balinas defeated all the best Ukrainian players at the time, in their turf land Odessa, Ukraine. Balinas defeated the then Ukrainian Champion Vladimir Savon, who was also the Absolute Russian Champion during the time, Vladimir Tukmakov, Anatoly Lutikov, Constantin Lerner, and Lev Alburt.
Candidates Ukraine GMs Yefim Geller and David Bronstein paid homage to the small but terrible Balinas during the award ceremony.
Bronstein told Balinas, “even though you are an admirer of Botvinnik, and not me, I will always remember your achievement here in Odessa.”
So now you know that the spirit of Balinas will be with Wesley So when he defeats the great but now old Ivanchuk.
And now you know too Wolverine, the true story of a great Filipino from the small islands of the Philippines, who came and conquered Odessa, Ukraine.
Whether Ukraine is no. 1 or 2, in the world, does not matter, a Filipino had already beaten your best chess players, years ago.
Not bragging now, but the truth. OK?
Wolverine is from Vancouver, Canada.
Manny Pacquiao already has his address and is on his way to Canada to teach the feline not to disrespect the Filipino people.
wolverine, remember you owe Wesley So and the Filipinos a big apology.
That is if you are a man with cojones.
If not we will hunt you in Vancouver, Canada and neuter you.
Capiz?
How will you neuter him if he hasn’t got cojones???
