Well, this seems easy:
1. Bxf7+ Kxf7
2. Qb7+ and black loses the queen.
1.Bxf7+ Kxf7
[1…Kf8/Kh8 2.Qf5 (2.Qb7?! Reb8 =) 2…Qe7 3.Bxe8 Qxe8 +-]
2.Qb7+ Qe7 3.Rc7 +-
– SS
Without hesitation i would play 1. Qb7, and f7 falls with a crushing position. don’t know if it’s the best move though, but should be good enough. greets, jan
Bxf7+ looks like a killer, for if Kxf7 then QxRa8 or Kf8 then Qb7 winning at the very least the exchange + P
Qb7 wins for white!
Best from Hungary
By a quick view I would say White should take the opportunity to enter the seventh rank.
1. Qb7
How to defend the point f7? There are Qe7, Qf8, Rf8
a)
1. … Qe7
2. Rc7 and f7 will fall, which costs not only a pawn but the exchange too
b)
1. … Qf8
2. Rc7 and f7 is not sane, however it is not really more than a pawn and the better position for White
c)
1. … Rf8
2. Rc7 and f7 will fall with a similar result as seen at b)
For b and c it is important for Black to attack White’s Queen after Rc7 by Reb8 resp. Rab8
Perhaps other guys here have better ideas, it will be interesting to read them.
My first comment was nonsense at one point, because of course after
1. Qb7 it does not work to play Rf8 (White takes the Queen) Sorry for that.
From Spain..
1)Qb7 win
Greetings from Spain
All the posts so far are saying 1. Qb7, aiming for the f7 pawn, which is a nice position to have, but hitting the pawn first with 1. Bxf7+ feels more forceful.
1. … Kxf7
2. Qb7+ Qe7
3. Rc7 Qxc7
4. Qxc7 Re7
1.Bxf7+!
1) 1…KxB 2.Qb7+
a)2…Re7 3.Qxa8
b)2…Kg8 3.Rxd6
c)2…Qe7 3.Rc7!
2)1…Kh8 or 1…Kf8 2.Qh4! and there are threats both on the queen and on the rook !
Does anyone like 1.Qxa8 Rxa8 2.Rxe6
??
“Does anyone like 1.Qxa8 Rxa8 2.Rxe6
??”
alejandro: Does Black have to play 1. … Rxa8? Would 1. … Qxd1+ and then 2. … Rxa8 be better?
