After picking a pair of winners for the French Open, I received tons of emails about Wimbledon. This will be more difficult as grass is a lot more unpredictable. A bad bounce can swing the entire match and we know how many bad bounces can occur on grass.

On the men’s side, I pick Roger Federer to be the champion – Runner up: Nadal. His game is good on grass and he is versatile. He is also motivated after the loss to Nadal on clay at the French Open Final. Don’t count Nadal out either even though his game is more suitable for clay. He would be my #2 pick after Federer. Roddick is a long shot with his powerful serve. The problem is he lost his mojo at the last US Open. His mojo is in the form on Brad Gilbert. He needs Brad more than he will ever admit.

On the women’s side, it’s a tough call. A number of players such as Sharapova, Henin-Hardenne, Venus Williams, Clijsters and Mauresmo can win it. Two big names have dropped out: Serena Williams and Davenport. Hingis is a very long shot.

I have not seen the brackets yet but I believe that Mauresmo will face Sharapova and Clijsters will face Henin-Hardenne in the semi-finals if they all move through. If this is the case, I pick Mauresmo over Sharapova and Henin-Hardenne over Clijsters then Mauresmo over Henin-Hardenne in the final in 3 tough sets. Champion: Mauresmo – Runner up: Henin-Hardenne
