No way. Kosteniuk is overrated and overhyped. I like Humpy. She’s gracious, not cocky like Kosteniuk.
It is Humpy’s time .. last year also she had Kovalevskaya in the dock but let it slip away.

That is going to be difficult. That could be some upsets. I think Krush, Kosteniuk, Stefanova, or Chen will win FIDE’s Women’s World Knockout Champion. I was suprised that the Polgar Sisters did not enter the tournament! That was unfortunate.

I notice that slots 41 & 42 have yet to be filled. Any idea what is taking so long, for the tournament will be starting in about a month?
Based solely on her recent results, I do not think the current champion is likely to retain her crown.

It has to be Humpy this time, unless she is unlucky. She is fast, second rated next to Judit in women’s group and also has a recent good experience at Corus. I know she is not as glamarous as others – everyone was intersted in whats happening with Lahno at corus but she is very good chess player. Unfortunately lacks sponsorship. But championship is her to lose.
