1… rg1 (preventing 2.rc1) and black pawn queens
Yes, 1. .. Rg1 looks good. Maybe 2.Ng1: h2 ; 3.Rc1 h1Q ; 4.Rb1: and for example Qh6 or Qh2. With the exposed king white shouldnt be albe to hold.
Tobe
Yes, Rg1 seems to be the beautiful move. But isn´t 1.-h2 2. Rc1 Nc3 even clearer win? The knight can´t be taken, the rook either.
Riku
1..h2 2Rc1 Nc3 wins a N
(if 3Nxc3 Rg1 promotes the P)
However on 1..Rg1, White replies
2 Kf2

I’m thinking…
1. Rg1 .. Nxg1
2. h2 .. Nh3
3. h1/Q .. Nxg5
what does Black play now?
Doesn’t work…

you guys are right, h2 is simpler and even more efficient. Since it was a tactics excersice, I was looking how to sacrifice something, you know 🙂
Consul:

>2. h2 .. Nh3
>3. h1/Q .. Nxg5
>what does Black play now?
any reasonable move, since black has a Q against an R. 4… qg1+ and the knight is doomed (5. Kf4 qh2 6. k~ qxb8) or 4… qe1+ …
Olimat:

but how does it help to stop the pawn? 2… h2 -+
1… h2; 2 Rc1, Re2 is another way
What? Why would that be another way?
After losing the rook on e2, he can not go to h1…
1… Rg1 has to be the only solution, as far as I can tell.
