Not only 2. Nh6# is threatened but also 2. Rf6#, so h5 is no defence.
It took me a long time to find it though I have seen this trick earlier.
I don’t think I would have found it now if I hadn’t seen it in the past – very nice combination – short, clear and hidden!

Now 2. Rf6 loses, and 2. Bd3 is met by 2….Kd3
I think a little more work needs to be done, since Re6 does not seem to finish the game.

i just looked at it from the perspective how do i get my rook on f6 because that would lead to mate. then saw Re6. if he takes me i mate with Bd3. if he decides to cover f6 with Rf8 i mate with Nh6.i never considered black playing h5 because of wanting my rook on f6 although thats a possibility.
