Below are my letters to Vladimir Kramnik and Veselin Topalov via ChessBase.
Dear Veselin,
I would like to thank you for providing the chess fans worldwide a thrilling and historic World Championship match in Elista. Win, lose or draw, you fought hard in every game.
In spite of set backs in some of your games, you came back strong each time. At the end, even though you fall a little short, you can be proud of yourself for giving your all.
I wish you the best in chess and I hope to see many more of your thrilling battles on the 64 squares in the future.
Best wishes,
GM Susan Polgar

Dear Vladimir,
I would like to thank you for providing the chess fans worldwide a thrilling and historic World Championship match in Elista. After 13 long years, the World Championship title has finally been unified. Congratulations!
In spite of facing numerous difficult situations during this match, you came through at the end like a true Champion!
Once again, congratulations! I wish you the best and good luck with all your future chess endeavors.
Come on, we all know that Kramnik won his title in the closet! Forget about him…
Congratulations to Vladimir Kramnik, the new undisputed unified champion who won fair and square. Win with dignity, lose with grace. We would all do well to accept the former and practice the latter.
Susan,
Why are you sending these letters via ChessBase ?
You don’t need their publicity, do you ?
I don’t really think that they are going to publish this. They had not published your letter after the 5th game, although they had published several others.
You have shown us a very good example of hypocrisy.
They did publish Susan’s letter. So stop lying.
>You have shown us a very good example of hypocrisy.
I dont think so – I rather believe that GM Susan Polgar wanted to say thank you to both players for staging one of the most exciting chess shows ever.
There was everithing in this match – high quality chess, terrible blunders, a scandal, “good guys”, “bad guys”, thrill till the very last game. High drama and moments of a really brilliant play from both sides – what more one can ask for from a chess match??
Very well done Susan! Thank you for your efforts, for your balanced, polite voice during the controversy surrounding the match and please keep going with this fantastic blog!!
Regards,
Svetoslav

Apparently they did :

along with 4 other letters.
You totally missed my point though : Why does Susan send these letters via ChessBase ?

See anyone can write one. A chess non-insider has been easily able tell the difference during the course of this match between a lot of the messages we have had, so obviously distorted and partial and weakly argued, and the kind of genuine ones.
Thankyou for your entertaining and enjoyable coverage. This has been a great sporting event. I hope matchplay survives!
letters to the players:
Dear Mr. Kramnik,
CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!
_______________
Dear Mr. Topalov,
Please don’t ever play a chessgame anymore with such dirty tricks! How unprofessional….
Let’s see…it only took three messages before brave Mr. “Anonymous” showed up to attack Susan. Must be a new record.
Yeesh.
Susan, excellent letters! You are truly a great World Champion yourself not only in chess but in life also! People seem to forget, Susan isn’t just a World Champion, Chess Grandmaster, World Famous, but also a chess fan just like the rest of us who is doing her best to promote chess. It is amazing how in your blogspot we see the full spectrum of the world’s chess players. I hope the majority may learn to win with grace, lose with dignity and become better human beings in their dealings with one another. Presently I am playing in my local club’s championship and am in first place, but I ensure I treat my opponents with greatest restpect and kindess during and after game. Life is more important than winning a chess game. All you need is love, love is all you need. Give Peace a Chance.
“Why are you sending these letters via ChessBase ?”
Because you can. They’ve started a section where one can write letters to Kramnik and Topalov. Even you can.
