The leader in the world chess rank list Vesselin Topalov arrived in Sofia for the match of adversaries against Gatta Kamsky. In the Bulgarian capital he would be preparing for the match against the American, which will take place from 16th of February through the 28 at the National Palace of Culture. The winner in these games would play before the end of the year in a match for the world title against the present #1 of the planet Vishvanatan Anand, India.

Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
topalov will eat kamsky alive.
I hope Kamsky destroys Topalov.
If Topalov will play like in Bilbao Kamsky won’t win any game
Topalov may be a dirtbag, but he’s going to destroy Kamsky.
Dirtbag vs Dirtbag!
Topalov’s manager is THE dirtbag. It’s too bad Topalov sometimes allows his scumbag manager too much control over his chess affairs. When he is not distracted by the antics of his manager, Topalov can be a very tough chess opponent.
Anand will beat either one of these two, no problem…
This is going to be such an easy win for Topalov. This will end like 12-0 or something like that.
And then, Topalov will crush Anand to claim his crown. Anand and Kramnik are kids play when compared to the Bulgarian Impaler.

This is not an eggplant eating contest my friend. This is Chess….and Topalov will claim what is rightly his. Topa is going to humiliate Anand worst than Kasparov did.
Who is the the One On The Planet???

just,
check it out?
Anand better enjoy being WCC for now. Once Topa mops the floor with Kamsky, he will be on his way to demolish Anand.
“Anand better enjoy being WCC for now. Once Topa mops the floor with Kamsky, he will be on his way to demolish Anand.”
And why isn’t Topa WCC now? Uh, huh.
Shudda Coulda Woulda…blah blah blah.
Topa may win with kamsky. With Anand his stuff won’t sell. Topalov does not have patience. Anand will eat Topa alive.

What rock have you been hiding under for the past 2 years? Topa didn’t play in Mexico. Topa hasn’t played Anand for the WCC yet.
Topa is going to run over Kamsky. And then, the only chance Anand will have is to bore Topa to death with his dull style. Anand is no match for Topa.
Even though at moment the odds are heavily in favour of Topalov crushing Kamsky I am hoping for a close match and Gata pulling the upset of the year! Don’t forget when Mike Tyson got upset when no one thought he could be beat. I love Topalov’s chess style better than any active player at moment. His games are always best. But if Gata can find his form Topalov may be in for a surprise. Anand lost to Gata in match play.
Sure, keep dreaming with Gata pulling an upset against Topalov. You better try winning the Mega-Millions which will give you better odds.
When you go to chessgames.com and check the results from games with classic control, Topalov has a plus score against Anand (albeit a minimal one). So a match between the two will be a very equal affair and exciting affair. (For the record, Anand holds a large plus score against Kramnik!). Let’s just hope that Gata doesn’t get in the way, because someone who is N17 in the Fide ratings really doesn’t belong in a match for the chess crown!
“This will end like 12-0 or something like that.”
Hahaha. – The match is only set for 8 games.
Better get yourself informed before writing stupid stuff…
Fact:
Kamsky qualified by winning the world-cup;
Topalov didn’t qualify for this match, but his manager simply swindled FIDE into conceding Topalov this ‘free lunch’ which no other Ex-FIDE World Champion got.
BTW, in case Topalov loses, he still will be granted a place in the next candidates match (again for free).
Isn’t that a little bit too Bulgarian ?

I don’t think being favored because he is a Bulgarian is adequate statement. Bulgarians have no leverage in almost anything including chess.
About the “World Chess Championship”:
To me personally is unclear and confusing the way that one becomes a world champion in chess.
I think something like a clash of the top 10 in the rankings is more clear and fair way to choose a pretender for the current champion

Fair point, but only if you also mention that Topalov was absurdly barred from competing in the Mexico 2007 supposed “world championship” tournament. Anand might well have finished only second had Topalov been allowed to compete.
Of course, it was partly Topalov’s own fault that Topalov was barred from Mexico 2007. He and his manager Danailov helped to concoct the improper contracts that Kramnik was pressured into co-signing with Topalov and FIDE; for the title match Kramnik-Topalov 2006.

Simple, first you have to be in FIDE’s good grace. That being the case, they will give you ridiculous advantages over other GM to take shots at the title (e.g. Kramnik, Topalov, Anand). Once you are champion, you don’t have to worry about anything since Chess is the only sport where a WC only has to defend his title once every 3 years if he chooses to.
Now, since FIDE is so eager to add credibility to the sport so it can be in the olimpics….why don’t they address this ridiculous 3 year cycle instead of pursuing the drug testing….which in reality makes FIDE officials look like the 3 stooges.
Topa couldn’t beat Kramnik even after all the boorish antics and a free game to boot. What an asshole! Jelena is # 1 in the womens tennis ranking list but does anybody truly consider her to be the best? NO! and she has not even won a grandslam event yet. No offense meant to Jelena Jankovich, just making a point regarding all that Topa/Danailov bragging! I truly hope that Topa does not even come close to winning the World Title as if he does, the Topa/Danailov duo will really start behaving like uncultured brats.
