Super GM Gata Kamsky made a special appearance at the Polgar Chess Center tonight (November 5, 2005). He conducted a simul against strong club players (17 wins – 1 draw), went over a beautiful game (crushing Kramnik) and gave a very entertaining Questions and Answers session.
If you have a chance, try to attend his next event. You’ll have the time of your life with this very down to earth Super GM!
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Gata is the best American player since Fischer. Nakamura is not even in the same ballpark yet. Gata when active was the #2 player in the world. He beat both Kramnik and Anand in candidate’s matches.

Thanks for letting us know about Gata. He’s an American gem.
Is there another event planned right now? Please let us know of upcoming events. I try to get to all the events like this.
Gata Kamsky made a terrific appearance at the Polgar Chess Center. He graciously answered every question, signed autographs and gave helpful comments and friendly advice to all the players during his simul. He even allowed the participants to chose colors, white or black, which is a change from a traditional simul where the titled player always plays with the white pieces.
Mr. Kamsky also gave the participants a surprisingly good chess lecture, even after admitting to the packed crowd that it was his first chess lecture ever.
It was a thrill to play him, and we all thank Susan for organizing this tremendous event. Keep up the good work Susan!
