I was looking through “A World Champions Guide to Chess” at a bookstore recently and noticed the section on chess etiquette. I wish chess etiquette is something more people learned.
I was recently playing on a chess ‘ladder’ when I was rated around 800 (I’m a beginner) and paired up with a 1245. I was trying to match a name with a face and saw his father point to the pairing and say that it was unbelievable the ladder director would pair his child with an 800 and he felt the pairings were ridiculous and should be redone. I won the game, but decided not to slowly turn all my pawns into queens since I was not playing against the parent.
Thank you for not putting a section on etiquette and manners in your book.
cute kids…keep it up…thats the future
