1.Nxe5 Qxe5 2.Bd4 Qe7 3.e5+ etc
1. Nxe5+ Qxe5
2. Bd4 Qe7
3. e5+ Kg7
+/-
white’s two bishops are strong, has a lot of space, and the initiative. play could continue:
Not sure which one is better here, exf6 or e6. To be safe, let’s take the piece back.
4. exf6+ Nxf6
5. Re1 Qf8
6. Rc7 Rac8
7. Qxb7 Rxc7
8. Qxc7
now, … Rc8 is not possible because of Qxd7+ (the N on f6 is pinned).
Also, Bf5 is threatened.
What do you all think?
Ne5 looks promising to me due to the pin on d6:
1. Ne5 Qe5 (de5?? loses the queen)
2. Bd4 Qe7
3. e5+ Kf7
4. ef6 Qf8
5. Qe4 with a powerful attack, and if,
4. …..Nf6
5. Re1 Qf8
6. Bf6 Kf6
7. Qd4 Kf7
8. Qe4 Qg7
9. Qe7 Kg8
10.Rc7 should win another piece.
Bd4
Maybe, on that last line, 10. Rc7 isn’t as good as it looks. I overlooked Qb2+.
10. Qg7 Kg7
11. Re7 Kf6
12. Rh7 is better.
I am probably missing something shorter and more forcing in these lines, anyway. Still, I think Ne5 is the right first move. I should go dig my board out of the closet.
Bd4 maybe, but black doesn’t have to take it. I like Nxd6 winning at least a pawn. If black captures Nxd6, then Bc5 pinning it. Something should shake loose!
I’d go for 1.Ne5 Qe5 2.Bd4 Qe7 3.e5+
with a strong attack for white. E.g
Kf7 4.ef6 Nf6 5.Rc7
The problem with
1. Nd6 Nd6
2. Bc5 is that black can easily protect the pinned knight. All in all, it just appears white has lost material.
Bd4 is similar to the move I proposed, but seems a tempo slower to me.
Nxe5+ Qxe5
Bd4 +++
Maybe this is line. I considered this earlier, but dismissed it as it looked to me that black could give back the material effectively in defense.
1. Ne5 Qe5
2. Bd4 Qe7
3. e5+ Kf7
4. e6+ Be6
5. de6+ Qe6
6. Qb7+ with a strong attack.
X-rays
1. Nxe5+, …
A. … , dxe5
2. Qxe7, …
wins the queen
B. … , Qxe5
2. Bd4, …
wins the queen
C. … , Kg7
2. Bd4, …
followed by 3. Nc6 and 4. e5, with overwhelming advantage.
Ne5 first then Bd5
Bc5.. queen sacrifice, the passed pawn that results has to be strong
1. Nxe5 – Qxe5
2. Bd4 – Qe7
3. e5+ – …
4. exf6
etc
1.Nxe5! is the winning move. Black has to recapture with 1…Qxe5 but will lose after 2.Bd4 Qe7 3.e5+.
Beelze
What about Nxe5 Qxe5 2. Bd4 Qe7 3. e5+….?
1.Nxe5! Qxe5 2.Bd4! Qe7 3.e5+ wins…
Kamalakanta
1.Nxe5
if Qxe5 2.Bd4,Qe7 3.d4+ and white breaks up the postion and wins at least a paw after 3.-,Kg7 4.dxf6+, Nxf6 5.Bxf6,Qxf6 6.Qxd6
