After nearly 2 weeks of no super tournament in play, Dortmund is set to begin today with Vladimir Kramnik, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Peter Leko, Vassily Ivanchuk, Loek Van Wely, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Arkadij Naiditsch, and Jan Gustafsson.
The chess world awaits the July 1 rated list. Will Carlsen be #2 or will it be Ivanchuk?
My picks for Wimbledon have decided to take an early vacation. That is why I am not a gambler 🙂
The Russians have already announced their line ups for the upcoming Olympiad in Dresden, Germany. Kramnik will lead the most powerful team. But can they regain the Gold? (Here is the official Olympiad website)
It’s Saturday Open Forum. What would you like to discuss? The forum is yours!
Were Vishy, Magnus, and Gata invited to Dortmund?
Susan,
I love your articles and blog pictures! The comments from your readers should be published in a novel somewhere! They are insightful, hilarious, and somewhat brilliant. Keep up this good work!
Susan,
In your Simuls it appears you always play white. I believe others like Jude Acers lets players chhose their color. I have seen other Simuls where the colors are alternated. Have you considered doing that?
No, I have not considered doing that. My similes are usually very large or severely time constraint. It is usually a part of multiple activities. Therefore, the idea is to finish as soon as possible and move on to the next events. Mixing colors will only create more potential problems and making the events longer.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
What will the American team look like? Will you help train the American team Susan?
Susan:
My wife told me you called her yesterday to inquire if Claudia was going to play in the SPNI. When you called my wife and daughter were about to board their flight to Chile where they would connect to Argentina. My wife called me to tell me about your call. I want to really recognize your efforts for taking the time to personally call those that you have invited or qualified for your event. Your call really demonstrates to all that you are an “action” person. You spent time to assure yourself that your event would measure to your expectations.
I am not sure when it was the last time the USCF called anyone of us unless of they were returning our calls. Yet your actions were proactive instead of reactive. My wife also told me you inquired on couples attending, siblings, etc.
I applaud your efforts. As a parent it demonstrates to me that your heart is in the right place. In return we the parents are ready to assist you in your endeavors.

P.S. Russell Harwood told me you guys would be going to Argentina for a conference, will you be going there after all this week?
In your similes, do players get less times as more players drop out, so eventually they are having to move instantly because you are not moving from their board?
Maybe you can clear up some confusion, Susan. Over on chessdiscussion.com, you speak about confidential communications that were leaked by the executive board to Sam Sloan. Specifically, what confidential matters were leaked? Since they’ve been leaked, I’ve got to assume they are no longer confidential.
Thanks
Sorry but all the evidence has been turned over to my team of attorneys. The USCF refused to apologize for their conduct. They challenged me to go to court instead. My attorneys will take the appropriate steps. Since it is a legal situation, I prefer to let my attorneys handle it.
Best wishes,
