1…Rh2 wins the h3 pawn -+
1…Nd1! and it seems white cannot escape the mating attack (2.g4 h4).
Beelze
1. Nd1 looks good. It threatens mate. Then if
1. … g4
2. fg and black queens a pawn.
Brad H.
nd1 and its over
beautiful composition
1……Nd1 (threat Rf2 mate)
2.g4…h4 (renew the threat)
3.gxf…exf and mates
Nd1 threatening Rf2++
1…Rh2 wins the h3 pawn -+
How? Surely 2. h4 protects it.
Cute. 1. -, Nd1! and the threat Rf2# is only be repelled by white by sacrifizing decisive material
2. g4!?, h4! 3. gxf5, exf5 is only a delay.
4. Nb2 seems forced and after Rxb2 5. Rxb2, Nxb2 black wins easily.
Best wishes from Germany
Jochen
Nd1 with the idea Rf2#
1…Nd1! wins for black
= even material
1…Nd1! promises to ruin White’s day. White must give up a piece to prevent mate on f2: 2 g4 h4! 3 gf5 ef5 and Black again threatens mate and White must give up his knight with 4 Nb2.

Nd1 threatens Rf2 mate. I think white can delay it with
2. g4 h4
3. fg ef
but after that it seems to be Rb2 (give up the rook) or a mate.
1.-Nd1 sets up a mating net – eventually (after 2.g4 h4 3.gf5: ef5:) white has to sacrifice a piece on b2 to defend against Rf2#.
1… Nd1
2.g4 h4
3.g:f e:f
0:1
1…Nd1! 2.g4 h4 mating.
Nd1 threatening Rf2 mate
with 1….Nd1 the blackies should threat with mate
on 2.g4 with the idea of escaping via g3 black should play 2…h4
the mate net holds again after
3.g4xf5 e6xf5
1…Nd1
2.g4 h4
3.gxf exf
And White has to give up material to prevent the mate on f2.
I was thinking 1…Ne4, with the idea of 2…Rf2+ Ke3 3…Rg2, but I haven’t thought through white’s responses to the 1st move in the sequence.
Nd1 threatens Rf2 mate. Looks like white has to give up a piece to prevent it.
1…nd1
2.g4 h4
3.gf5: ef5:
and now white have to give a pice to prevent mate. isnt it?
What about Nd1?
Cheers, Paul
1…Nd1! (with the terrible threat of …Rf2#) 2.g4 h4! 3.gxf5 exf5 and White stands up.
Nd1 wins whites knight, as mate is threatened
1) Nd1, …; with the threat of mate on the next move 2) Rf2
What can Black play to avoid it?
Maybe 1) …, g4; 2) h4, gxf5; 3) exf5, and the threat of mate is still there.
Am I missing something?
Ciao
Luigi
1. … Nd1 (threatens … Rf2#)
2. g4 h4 (renews the threat)
3. gxf5 exf5 (again the threat)
4. Nb2 Rxb2
5. Rxb2 Nxb2
