Nisipeanu, LD : Topalov, V 0-1
Sasikiran, K : Adams, M 1/2
Kamsky, G : Mamedyarov, S 1/2
Kamsky played the Black pieces during his first two games and drew each. Not too bad…he’s playing against some great opponents. So, I think he’ll win with the White pieces.
I certainly hope he can come back. If he were to ever play for the WCC, he’d be the first American since Fischer.
I wish him the best of luck.
Wouldn’t that be a kick, if “the first American since Fischer” turned out to be someone born in Siberia?
It makes nationalism and the Cold War seem so silly somehow. The Russians are bad unless they’re our Russians.
It looks like Shaky’s going down–makes room for everyone else at the top
Uh oh. Kamsky went for a simplifying line (31. Rxb6). He was only up by a pawn in material but with a bit of a vice grip on the position. Now, he’s just up by a pawn sans vice grip.
Kamsky won today and Adams lost.
Topalov game still in progress.
Hi,
G.Kamsky is not Russian. He is from the old nation conquered by Russia.
Regards
Pony.
