NM Marc Arnold, NY Junior and USCL New York Knights team member, completed a tri-fecta of IM scalping on Friday night taking out junior IM Arjun Vishnuvardhan in a R+P endgame. As a result of taking his final scalp, Marc secured his first IM norm with a final score of 6.5/9.
This is the second junior player who has earned a norm at a North American FIDE Invitational and we know it won’t be the last. We hope that Marc will make it back to Chicago over the summer to play in another event and to go after another norm.
Let’s give a round virtual applause to the youngster.

Well done Sevan. Hope you’ll continue to run many more events. How about a Fischer Random rapid event with some top players?
