Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Who invited this 2500 player? Isn’t he out of class?
Well: a) The 2500 player is the world jounior champion, and following essen tradition he was invited.
b) I can’t understand comments like 2900+ performance, when there are only 3 games… It is a good result, 2.5/3 with these oponents, but hardly rare. There is a good reason why in say olympiads, they count performances of players that have played more than (say) 7 games…
3 games are statistically not enough.. (did anyone said, after 1 round, beating say a 2600 player, Mame has a 3200 performance? No, for a good reason..)
