M-Tel Masters Junior will finish in Sofia during M-Tel Masters

(Sofia, 14 May, 2009) The children’s chain of chess tournaments M-Tel Masters Junior will finish in Sofia during the super tournament M-Tel Masters. On 16 May in the National Sports Academy (NSA) in the Bulgarian capital will take place the last competition of the chain. It will start at 9:00 local time and in it will take part about 200 children aged up to 14.

The tournament in Sofia will determine the last two participants in the final tournament of the children’s chain. It will take place on 17 May in the glass pavillion on the square in fron of the National Theatre where the FIDE 21st category super tournament M-Tel Masters 2009 is running.

In the chairs of the world chess stars Topalov, Carlsen, Ivanchuk, Dominguez, Wang and Shirov will sit the winners in the chilsdren’s tournaments in Blagoevgrad, Yambol, Lovech and Silistra and the finalists in the tournament in the NSA. One of them will become the champion of the chain M-Tel Masters Junior.

Presently the sure participants in the final are the winner from Lovech and Yambol Anatoliy Atanasov, the second in the tournaments in Yambol and Lovech Cveta Galunova, the champion from Blagoevgrad Kiprian Berbatov and the winner in the tournament in Silistra Ivan Garnizov.

M-Tel Masters Junior is a chain of chess tournaments for children that started last year in Bulgaria. Its goal is to support the development of sport and discovering chess talents all over the country.
