draw !
what are YOUR game 6 predictions Susan?…and also who did you think and who do you think will win the match and why?
thanks for your time, Bryce.
Nice to discover this chessblog. I hope you wille have the time to update it since it’s a source of inspiration for many chesslovers.
It was amazing to see the manner in which Anand won the fifth game. It’s a remarkable achievement.
Game 6 could though go either way. I guess that Kramnik has a confidence crisis now. But could Anand get overconfident? You would think that draw will follow the storm of yesterday, but you never know.
Kind regards,
Arbër
Anand wins. He was my senior at school. Anand has many more tricks up his sleeve 🙂
Similar to the 4th from white side,
Kramnik has to take the risk.

if i were anand, i would seriously consider 1.e4 to check if Kramnik is going to play the Petroff. An easy draw would suit Anand pretty well.
If I were Kramnik I would have prepared something other than the Sveshnikov and the Petroff to face 1.e4
credo patta in ogni caso Anand è molto più forte di Kramnik, la quinta partita è stata magistrale per Anand e da dimenticare per Kramnik.
I m 100 percent sure Anand will go for 1.e4. Knowing Kram cant play Russian Defence because of being to drawish, which leaves Najdorf as against fritz, as Kramnik was behind.
So Anand will be 4,5 , 1.5 in lead after game six
Nice coverage
I think it’ll be a draw, whether 1.e4 or 1.d4
d4.
I think 1-0.. Kramnik will be forced to come out of the blocks and play something special.. With the pressure on Kramnik, I feel he is more likely to blunder..
The two point different is going to define their confidence and game play!

lol. Has it escaped your attention that SP seems to update about three times a day, minimum?
I’m in love.
I just want to know why Kramnik hasn’t been using his signature/bread & butter Catalan system!?
I want to see Anad win with white pieces as in his previous championship match again Kasparov he was not able to win with white I guess. Anand seems to be strong with black pieces lol

I think Anand will play save..draw maybe.
Anand will go for no risks…with a two-point lead and only 7 games to go he doesn’t have to force anything…
I don’t have a prediction, but I hope and wish that Anand wins in 25 moves! 🙂
I’m still rooting for Kramnik…..but this game will be a draw. Anand doesn’t need to push the situation, and Kramnik needs the day off to come back at full strength.
People, don’t forget that Topalov came back from a similar deficit during the Elista match….ok, let’s not count the toiletgate scandal.

This might be a stupid question, but why has only the Slav been played almost every time?
What happened to Catalan and Sicilian?
Have either players showed significant weakness while playing Slav, that the other chooses to exploit?
First game, the reports said that Slav was a very safe opening for white, and hence it was chosen by Kramnik. But, it seems to be Slav every time!
E4 Now Anand 🙂
maybe only a siclian can save Vlad
so .. no fear to get a wild struggle and take ‘worldchamp’proud and courage
Alberto from Italy
To all those complaining about the Slav….at least we are getting a break from the Petroff!!
