don’t see a direct knock-out yet, but here is a possible strategy:
step-1: park the black N on g3
step-2: keep the white rook on back rank tied to defending the back rank.
e.g., for step-1:
1… nf1+
2. Kh1, Ng3+
3. Kh2.
now, if the root on g1 were to leave the back rank, black would sieze it and threaten rh1#
so, one line could be:
3… rf4 (threatening the b4 pawn)
effectively black has two active rooks and white has one.
not sure, but think the idea is to push the g pawn, white cannot defend it and once it hits the white pawns some nice mates arise
1. … g5
2. … g4
3. hxg4 Nxg4+
4. Kh1 h3
with mate on Rh2
or in case of
3. … gxh3
4. Kxg3 ok not sure anymore
am sticking with the idea of g5 for now though 😛

I don’t see a simple forced mate for Black after 1…Nf1+ 2.Rxf1, but you’re certainly right that he wins easily.

Cute! (Translation: I didn’t see it.) 1…Nf1+ 2.Kh1 Rb3 definitely wins comfortably after 3.Rxf1 (3.Bc8 looks pretty hopeless after 3…Rb1) Rxf1+ 4.Kh2 Rbb1 5.g4 Rf2+ 6.Bg2 Rbb2, etc. Then again, 2…Rb1 mates quickly — White has no defense against 3…Ng3+ 4.Kh2 Rxg1 5.Kxg1 Rf1+ 6.Kh2 Rh1#.

What happens after 1…Rf1 2.Rxf1 Nxf1+ 3.Kg1? Black’s stranglehold on the White king is gone; meanwhile, White’s up two connected passers.

3. Kh2, Rf1
and white has to lose material to avoid the mate with Rh1# or Rf1# after exchanging rooks.

Sorry, I don’t see it. After 4.Rxf1 Nxf1+ White looks very much better. What am I missing?

Could you be more specific? Don’t get me wrong, I completely agree that Black wins easily. I just don’t see a forced mate.
I don’t see a win at all for black the best that black can hope for is a perpetual by 1. .. Nf1 2.Kh1 Ng3 3. Kh2 continuing the perpetual.
White cannot play 2. Rxf1 because 2.. Rxf1 and 3..Rb1 would be lost for white. 4. g4 Rb2 5. Bg2 Rf2 would eventually lead to mate.
Similarly 1. ..Nf1 2. Kh1 Rb1 3.. Ng3 4. Kh2 Rff1 5. Nxf1 Kg1 or 5. Rxf1 g4 also doesn’t win for black
The only option I see is the perpetual.
