Susan, Leontxo Garcia and GM Azmaiparashvili are doing the commentary for the audience. There are 2 seperate rooms. One room is for the players and if people want to listen to the commentary, they have to wear a special headphone to listen to the LIVE commentary.
The second room is the commentary room with Mr. Garcia as the moderator. In the last 2 games, it seems to me that there are just about equal amount of people in each room. Each room has about 100 – 175 spectators.
Susan and Mr. Garcia do the commentary in Spanish and Mr. Garcia translate GM Azmai’s commentary to Spanish for the audience.
In this day and age, you should be able to transmit this commentary live on the internet. It would be a great hit!
We miss your comments vey much. :((
I really LOVE how the official site trashes the players for making super quick draws. People who try to make a living playing chess can’t complain about tiny prizes if they draw in under 40 moves. Can you imagine Manchester offering a tie game to Leeds after only 10 minutes?
Shame on the quick drawing players!!!
Bravo Moro, Great Game
You look so pretty Susan!!!
the man, actually both know so much about chess and other stuff i assume; Even Kramnik with all his art of defense couldnt stop the brave imaginative MOro; who would u choose to be this moment??
When u choose the path of defense u really need to be imaginative too and strongly well minded, my guess is that kramnik isnt well balanced right now, not to take such a position against moro, maybe finding a hole on his analysis at svidler´s game may be the turnpoint; Moro may not win this championship but who can boast that they beat the worldchampion in a shot for the world title¿¿
who would u be then???
Kramnik again played passive and boring chess. Lucky Alexander (called Moro) What I want to know is much money will each of them get. After all, money makes Mexico go ’round. THANK YOU for all the photos, pictures and images!! I don’t like the players interviews, they say nothing of any importance to the game of chess or anything whatsoever.
WC organizers cant even spend money on web site. It really lacks good editors and updates. Even after hours of game completion they cant update the site. It was at its worst before the WC began.
Even all other small sites broadcasting WC are better than official site.
How could they afford to pay reasonable for Top Rated GMs ?????
I think GMs are must be worried about lack of organization and facilities.
Thank you for all you are doing for us.
Message for Kramnik – don’t worry, be happy! You lose one day, you win another! We love you!
no, we don’t love him.
love doesn’t imply respect 🙂
Susan, I see you are commenting together with mr. Garcia, who is also writing commentary on the official web page. Is it possible that you could do a little education task, and tell him that it comes across as highly appropriate that the official site critizes the players for draw results, and even goes so far as to label one of the players as “boring”.
Of course it also borders on idiocy when the players being critisized for lack of killer instinct are the two who have racked up the greatest plus scores, but stupidity is a poor excuse for rudeness.
I know it is not your responsibility to help Garcia out here, but anything you can do would be appreciated
Not since the days of Fischer (complaining about prearranged draws amongst Soviet players) have I seen so much discussion about draws. Draws are bad – people want a decive result. First of all draws have always been an integral part of chess and perhaps somewhat unique to this game. Chess is not soccer or boxing. Draws can be the only logical result if the position is dead even. At this level where the players are all 2700+ rated they are extremely strong and pretty well matched. So draws will happen. What would people say if every truely even game was pushed until one player blundered? That would cheapen the game and make it far worse. I do agree that there should be a rule preventing quick draw (and I believe the USCF has a 13 move rule – what the FIDE one is I dont know).
Instead of complaining about a genuine draws the chess community should focus on eduation the media on the value of draws.
Sincerely,
Dr. Karlsson
I have seen a few comments so far criticizing Vishy for taking a quick draw.. but no one seems to mention the fact that he would probably like to prepare more for his game against kramnik than win against Aronion.
Vishy would rather prefer to win/draw against Kramnik and win the tournament than lose to him but go on to win the tournament, in which case there will be bound to be discussions about whether he really deserves to be the champion.
I think we can expect both players to be well prepared and hopefully have a good game today.
