Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
It seems to me these two are pretty closely matched! Susan, when will USA produce young players such as these?
mayanking, Tommy Polgar and his friends are on their way…
This drawn game is proof in the pudding that classical chess is dead. Capablanca was correct back in the 1920’s.
Fischer Random chess is the ONLY way to go to save the game. I await GM Susan Polgar’s official position on Fischer Random Chess and whether she will support this form of chess in the USCF.
This issue of chess draws isn’t going away and Fischer Random isn’t going away either. I await with interest to see how she’s going to handle this issue. Draws themselves can’t be eliminated…but the preponderance of draws in grandmaster play has to stop.
Quick draws must be forbidden for sure. But I’m referring to games that are played so “perfectly” from memory by the grandmasters themselves that lend to draws. This absolutely has to change. Fischer Random is the ONLY way to stop this problem or at least minimize the chances that the game can end in a draw.
GM Polgar…I think you can stand out by announcing a change in USCF rules that ALLOW FRC to be played in chess clubs. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve begged the TD to let the players choose FRC to play instead of Classical. They always shrugged their shoulders and said “sorry”.
Enough with memorized chess aka Position 518. Free the game and let us play the remaining 959 other starting setups. The ball is now in your court. Don’t fear being reprimanded by FIDE. If anything…if you announce a rule change that lets clubs use FRC…then maybe FIDE will FINALLY wake up and start talking about Bobby Fischer’s contribution to the game. Even former World Champion Gary Kasparov himself says its time to look at it seriously. I suggest you do the same.
I like the pink. Its wicked.
