This leads to a checkmate in 8 moves! This is ironic since Humpy lost yesterday because she grabbed the a5 pawn! Kf7 or Ra2 and Black is more than fine. In fact, Black would be better.

Lucky escape from Koneru
Cramling and Kosteniuk are not tied.
Kosteniuk 1.5 Cramling 0.5
32… Ra2 or Rd4 was the move… c-file must stay closed!
Now let’s have another pair of games… blitzing for the final claims! 🙂
My prediction was true!

Humpy won in ~35 moves! lol
White looked pretty suspicious with the bishop locked in at g7 (and later h6). Any computer analysis, was that really sound? My gut feeling tells otherwise…
Koneru habbit of going behind powns created the whole mess. Atlast Bh6 helper her to win the game.
32 .. Nxa5 cost yifan the whole game. She was in time trouble at the time. Black was better before that move with a white bishop being locked at h6.
The Chinese brat’s brain got pulled out of whack by her silly double barretts. She’ll win tomorrow and then get kicked down by Kosteniuk. Prediction made yesterday. You heard it here first.
Kosteniuk will be the champion.
Time trouble or not, the mate was easy to see after Nxa5. A pitty the level of play is like this.
Its gonna be East vs West.
Ind vs Rus
Humpy vs Kosteniuk
Anand vs Kramnik
Hear-hear!
Since when did Russia become west?
Duh especially when Russia goes both father east and farther west than either China or India. North vs. south, maybe.
To anon 10:57.
It is very easy to say “how pitty the level of play is” from the outside, but the players are under a big pressure and in time trouble.
Blunders happens everywhere. I remember Kramnik missing a mate in one. In an olympiad some years ago I remember Leko missing a very easy winning combination against Kasparov.
C’mon Hou. I belive you’ll go to the final. Can you believe she’s only 14 and playing for the World Champs final?
A lucku escape for Koneru. IMO, it was a deserving result, since the first game was also a farcical win for Hou. They both did not deserve to win their matches!
‘They will head to the rapid playoff tomorrow.’
Head off? Muahahahaha, what crap. Koneru is a patzer and Kosteniuk a chess bitch. OK, so where do I pay the five bucks commission for using Shahade’s word?
better luck tomorrow Hou
