Yesterday Judit defeated Ivanchuk 2.5 – 1.5 to advance to the final against Topalov. Today, she beats Topalov by the score of 3.5 – 0.5!

Wow, crushing victory… Topalov has lost all confidence after his loss to Anand.
Judit crushes top male players while Kosteniuk loses to 2400 players at the Russian women’s championship and Olympiad. But Kosteniuk wants to insult Judit, Hou Yifan, Humpy Koneru, and Tatitana Kosintseva by stating publicly stating that she’s better than all of them and she’s only chess queen? How arrogant and condescending!
Awesome–so Judit wins the event!
She played very energetically in this event. She played the Dutch against Topalov (first time I’ve seen her play that opening), and then brought out the swashbuckling King’s Gambit–it doesn’t get much more romantic than that!
May this crushing victory over two chess titans be the sign that Judit’s comeback has begun in earnest.
Anon, what do you mean “insulting” and “arrogant”? She is the women’s world champion isn’t she? Hou and Humpy had their shot in 2008 and they failed. That’s life. If she hasn’t improved since 2008, let them prove it in Antalya next month. But, to call arrogant and condescending a world champion because he/she said that he/she is the king/queen just makes no sense.
Is Judit gonna make a run at the top elite of chess again? That would be great. Also , would love to see how Susan would fare against today’s young women chess stars.
No surprise. Jutdit is capable of beating these chess titans. But with such huge margin…for this I have to say WOW judit…YOU ARE GREAT….

To say she’s better than Judit Polgar and all the other women world champions is quite stupid. She’s not even in the top 10. One lucky tournament doesn’t make someone the best ever. But everyone is used to this type of nonsence from Kosteniuk and her management team. This is the reason why she receives a lot of critism.
No more Kosteniuk bashing on this site. She is a worthy champion and does a fine job promoting chess.

How sad that an anonymous hater (7:11 PM, 9:06 PM, 10:40 PM) ruins the occasion by defaming Alexandra Kosteniuk instead. I visited her website and see no evidence at all that she pretends (or “publicly states”) that she is better than the top 10 female players.
Kosteniuk does use the expression “chess queen” to advertise the fact that she won the last women’s world championship, something that could not have happened without a lot of hard work and determination on her part (and some luck, of course; it was a knock-out tournament, after all). She has every right to make maximum use of that proud achievement to sell her books and DVDs while she can, especially since she is not very likely to ever repeat it.
Susan rightly commended Kosteniuk in her commentary on the Chess Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk for accepting to play 3rd board on the Russian women’s team in spite of being the reigning women’s world champion. The hater’s rubbish about her being “arrogant”, “condescending” and an “egomaniac” is not grounded in reality.
A pity in vitual every post that san Polgar publishes something about woman Chess the reigning World Champion gets bashed.
She does more then anyone except Susan to promote chess.

I did say in a previous post ‘Judith should win this! & retire Topo for ever.’ I wish Judith was given a wild card to play in the candidates! Best of luck to the best female player ever! by a WIDE margin. Hou, Humpy and the rest are left FAR behind.

Outstanding! Easily the best female player ever, even before this demolition of the current cream of chess.
Those were blitz games, and Judith was very well prepared for them. Longer games might be somewhat different, but Judith is amoung the greatest.
