Strange game. Very nice was 84.h6! though…
Ivanchuk – chess God.True genius.Chucky!!!
Several questions:
1) What’s with 10. … Bf8?
2) Why not 21. … Rxd5?
3) Why 24. g4, giving it away?
4) Great 43. Bb3, forcing the knight back and protecting the pawn
5) What’s with 47. … Ke8… wouldn’t it be better to save the pawn by h5?
I am a novice player, and want to understand why things happen. Some times I see these games and feel like these guys do plain dumb things: obviously I’m wrong.
Thanks!
They should rename the English after it’s greatest exponent—
The Chucky!!!!
This guy is really creepy!
Does anyone know the answer to my following question?
Has there ever been a top player with such big ELO differences in such short time? Ivanchuk fell from the top place (in live rating list) in about one year to about 30th place, almost falling under 2700, and at the moment he is reclimbing and hopefully regaining one of the top places where he (in my eye) definitely belongs.
Curious up and downs but very interesting to follow.
He is (sometimes :)) such a strong player, I hope to see many good games of him in future times.
Vassily, I wish you the best for the rest of this tournament and your (still ongoing) big chess career! Susan, if you see him please tell him my respect and best regards (as he probably is not going to read this post here).
Best wishes from Germany
Jochen
If Chucky was a God, he would be Bacchus!
“If Chucky was a God, he would be Bacchus!”
HAHAHA, possible 🙂
Another astonishing game by Chucky !
Definitely the Great among the Great
“If Chucky was a God…”
What do you mean by if???
I’m reading all posts on Susan’s blog.
Chuck… Norris
Watched it live on FIC’s very entertaining.
Crapy opening play by Chucky but very creative though. Incredible he managed to win this game despite of it…
Hello Susan nice site and decent game maybe you can ge a flip feature that way one can get a look at things from Black’s perspective, Im Ultramodern dont study chess from WHITES POINT OF VIEW!!! if ya see Gelfand tell him im getting smarter all the time with the black pieces “like him” hahaha. Theses so called Elite guys are funny. haha.
