Idaho Scholastic Chess Championship kicks off Saturday

The Idaho Chess Association presents the 33rd annual Idaho Scholastic Chess Championship, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, at West Junior High, 8371 W Salt Dr. in Boise.

The tournament is the largest in the state and will feature nearly 400 students from all over Idaho. Students will play for individual grade level trophies and team trophies as well as the chance to be Idaho State Scholastic Chess Champion. The tournament is open to all K-12 students in the state.
