The only reason I made a commercial for American Express was to pay for my American Express bill.

Susan is so owned by google users.
“Anonymous said…
Susan is so owned by google users.”
And you are owned by diarreaha of the brian and mouth.
no doubt.
I agree with “grundy the troll eater”,
In the sense that Susan Polgar is doing extraordinary good work for chess, and she should be respected as a person, as a chessplayer, and as an active chess promoter of the highest order.
Destructive, disrespectful comments have no place in this site. There are plenty of hate sites out there if someone wants to vent his/her anger.
But before attacking anyone, please do something constructive! Go for a run, sing a song, count your blessings, whatever! But please contribute with respect.
It is easy to defame and insult on the Internet; there is apparently no accountability.
Yet for all the people who use this medium as a way to spread negativity, and because of all those people, we must VALUE Susan Polgar’s positive contribution. She is an outstanding citizen. So please- respect those who deserve respect.
Comment #2 is just funny, nothing else. BTW : those trivia are not really smart, this was the sense of comment 2 finally.
Let’s all chill for a moment, shall we?
The first thing I did when I saw the OP was to google the quote. Is anyone telling me with a straight face that they did otherwise? Anon 10:51 indulged in a little bit of light-hearted snark, and my reaction was to laugh.
We all know how much of herself Susan pours herself heart and soul into chess promotion, and how priceless a force for she is for the good of the game we all love. She’s not “owned” by anybody. I don’t speak for Anon 10:51, but I’ll bet that he/she knows all this and would be perfectly willing to agree.
Now let’s get back to the important stuff, like arguing about what’s White’s best sixth move vs. the Najdorf Sicilian.
Of course she is owned here, you just need google lol. What a brillant trivia.
And this trivia as nothing with chess, chess promotion ?!.
Somes months ago, she didn’t know what FEN was in chess ! She posts many times chess endgames, right ? do you think she don’t make mistakes ? check youtube token is “?v=2qIcQu7UR7c”.
I still feel comment # 2 was not appropriate.
So what is she finds stuff through Google, or whatever?
The quote was funny! OK?
But the comment about her decidedly was not.
Whether the trivia is brilliant or not does not matter. It brings variety and humor to the site. What is wrong with that?
What’s wrong with “to own by someone” ? many euros use it all the times after a win on someone (others games, not chess i must agree). imo this is just a problem of language not disrespectful plan.
The comment “Susan is owned by Google users” is ambiguous at best, and insulting at worst.
If there was no bad intent, my apologies. Nevertheless, I still think the comment is not by any means a compliment, and since it is open to misunderstanding, such comments are better not made.
The fact that it is used in Europe does not make it better. Is it meant as a compliment in Europe, when someone says “he owns you”, or something like it? Or is it meant in some other fashion? Not everything that is fashionable is good.
This is why “grundy the troll eater” had such a strong reaction.
Again, my apologies if my reaction was too strong. I just think this is the best chess site I have seen, and our contributions should elevate it, not bring it down.
To ‘own’ someone is NOT a European expression. It is a ghetto trash US expression to express disrespect after beating someone in a game. Like ‘punk’.
