Saeed-Ishaq

The 2015 UAE Men’s chess championship was held from September 4th through September 13th, at Dubai Chess & Culture Club.

The event was a 9-round Swiss tournament with tempo of play 90′/40 moves + 30′ + 30″ and 44 players took part.

FM Saeed Ishaq emerged a sole winner with 7/9 points, leaving the nearest followers half a point behind. Ishaq continues his string of successful performances after upsetting strong Grandmasters earlier this year, during the 17th Dubai Open Chess Tournament.

The second place was shared in a five-way tie by FM Nabil Saleh, FM Ahmed Abbas Khouri, Ali Abdulkarim, Hamdan Marshool and FM Ibrahim Mohamed Khouri, at 6.5 points each, but Nabil Saleh prevailed on a superior tie-break score to take the silver, while Abdulkarim remained third.
