Chess Teaches ECISD Children Life Strategy

Odessa, TX – It was a busy morning for many ECISD elementary students in Odessa today as 150 children participated in a chess tournament.
From first to sixth grade, these students are all apart of the Gifted and Talented Program in ECISD.
Teachers say many of the students know what they’re going to do twelve moves ahead.
They say the lessons of strategy taught through chess, are life lessons.
