Qg7+ – Qxg7 (forced)
Rxg7 – d2
Rb7 – d1=Q
Rb8+ – Be8
Rxe8++
no way for black to stop the rook mating , pawn e6 and h6 are too strong , black king on h8 is trapped
1. Qg7+ Qxg7 (only move)
2. Rxg7 (hxg7 leads to B win)
2… any black move except Be8
3. Rb7 any
4. Rb8 (mate not stoppable)
if 2… Be8
3. Re7 if Bc6
4. Rc7
if Bh4 (or Bh5/b5/a4)
4. Rb7
Cheers,
Milty
Qg7+ Q*g7 R*g7, threatening something like Rb7 and mate following is winning, isnt it?
I would go for 1.Qg7+ (1.e7 looses to qh6+ kg1 qc1+ and qf4+ I think)
after ..Qg7 2. Rg7 white thretens rb7-b8X, and the only defence I can see is 2.. Be8 to answer any rook move on the 7th rank with Kg8, and white has a simple draw with 3. Rg7 since Kf8? is 4. e7X and he has to go back with Kh8.
But actually after 2..Be8 I think 3.Re7 is winning for white, so I don’t really see why white need to save the game when he can win it?

1.Qg7+ Qxg7
2.Rxg7
with the thread of e.g. Rb7-b8 Mate.
1. Qg7+ Qxg7
2. Rxg7 Be8 (To prevent the Rook from checking the Black King from the 8th Rank – esp. the f8 square)
3. Rf7 (threatening Rf8 mate) Bxf7
4. exf7 Black can’t move the King any more and the White pawn can Queen and check mate.
Qxg7+ Qxg7 Rxg7 and a forced mate looks certain. Black has back rank problems.
Good ..
Hey You can view my Blog its also Good
dirtygarry:
3. Rf7 doesn’t win since black doesn’t have to take the rook, he can play Kg8, luckyily white can still play 4.Rg7 and get back to the same position after Kh8.
But 3. Re7 wins, as mentioned here in some posts…
