I’m guessing but the men in the painting look like famous people in the French Revolution. Is one of them Voltaire?
I believe the painting is by Moritz Daniel Oppenheim. He was a Jewish German painter born in 1800. the painting itself dates from 1854 and depicts three major figures of 18th-century thought—the dramatist Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, the Swiss divine Johann Caspar Lavater and the Jewish philosopher Moses Mendelssohn.
Hope that helps. Found the info from a few sources.
