Re6 h4

Or did I overlook something?
1.Rf7 h4
(a)1…. Rxf7 2.Qg6#
(b)1…. Rf8 (or R7g8 or R8h7 2.Qh7+ Rxh7 3.Rxh7#
(c)1… idle move 2.Rxf6+ Qxf6 3.Qxf6+ Rg6 4.Rxg6#
2.Rxf6+ Qxf6
3.Qxf6+ Kh5
4.g4+ Kxg4
5.Qf3#
I don’t have time for this, but I can’t imagine the start isn’t Rf7. The other move to attack f6 a second time, Re6, might not even hold since it allows Rf8 as a protection. Finally, taking at g7 should draw at best since the f6 pawn is protected already and the black rook protects h7, too- black just retakes at g7 and white will have to try for a repetition draw.

1.Rf7 (The rook is immune. If …Rxf7, Qg6#. Basically, any rook move mates in 3 moves and any queen move mates in 4, so black’s longest lasting defense is a pawn move.)

3.Qxf6+, Kh5

I agree with R f6 but
is this pure madness?

Well, it’s only a try…
