On the 5th of March the Grand Prix of Qatar has ended. Humpy Koneru became a winner of Women Grand Prix in Qatar and also got the right to play the match against Hou Yifan.
Round eleven was as thrilling as it was expected. After two quite peaceful draws between Dzagnidze-Chiburdanidze and Danielian-Stefanova, all the attention turned to the games which would identify the winner of Grand Prix in Qatar and also decide the participant of the match with Hou Yifan. The Chinese has already clinched the first place in the overall Grand Prix cycle and is a current World Champion among women.
The first contender Nana Dzagnidze could not have an effect on the situation and was waiting for the result of the second challenger Humpy Koneru who needed to win the game in order to have a chance to qualify.
Another important for the final standings game was played between Marie Sebag and Bathkhuyag Munguntuul. The French player also needed to win in order to share the first place. In such case Nana Dzagnidze would get a ticket to the match because Humpy Koneru would not get enough points in overall series of Women Grand Prix. After almost 5 hours of fighting Marie Sebag was defeated by Mongolian player and Humpy Koneru scored a crucial point!

It is indeed nice that Humpy eventually pulled it off. With all respect to Nana,a Hou – Nana Dzagnidze match would not have been so interesting. Now the higest ranking female ( not counting the phenomenal Judith ) will challenge for the title. It will sure be a humdinger! Hou will start as a slight favourite, but in a long match anything can happen. Will Anand now be kind enough to give some ‘tips’ to Humpy!

When every chess site of the world is celebrating Humpy’s success this federation run by @#$%^&* is not even mentioning it.
Susan! please do something with your new capacity,do something.
This roller coaster ride makes the event interesting!
If all is nice and peaceful, it’s dull.
Just my opinion, but a Hou v. Koneru match holds more interest than any pairing on the men’s side, now that Carlsen is out.
Even though Anand v. Nakamura might hold some initial interest, it would quickly dissipate once Nakamura’s blood began to flow across the floor.
Great job Koneru. Prepare well for next step and go for the kill Girl.
Humpy deserves the right to challenge Hou.
Topa can win this one.
Why the following official website of All India Chess federation is not putting the news of Humpy’s triumph if not following the event at all
http://indianchessfed.org/
i agree with everyone. Why is the stupid Indianchessfed.org not congratulating Humpy? How ridiculous. THey should be pulled up particularly since isnt’ their secretary the vice president of fide also? is fide against humpy?
Maybe you should ask why India federation does not support her in the first place, and then, complain about it. Everything has reasons, I guess.
“Why the following official website of All India Chess federation is not putting the news of Humpy’s triumph if not following the event at all

Because Indian Chess Federation President B S “Goichberg” Chauhan is a typical chess politician. He is self serving and cares nothing for chess. He is interested in money only and to hell with chess players.
I will give you one guess what B.S. means for Chauhan’s first two names.
