Looks like Caruana has a fairly decent chance to get into the next Candidates Tournament by placing a clear 1st in this GrandPrix, edging out Mamedyarov. Grischuk still has a very outside chance of doing the same. (Can’t say I blame Caruana for wanting to be known as an Italian rather than as an American.)
