This should be a draw. Hard to imagine either side losing this.
play h7, Be5 is force, play f4, Black Bishop moves on same diagonal say Bg7, Bc3, Bishop takes Bishop, close diagonal of Bishop with e5… no stop for h pawn queening…..
1. h7 Be5 2. f4 Bh8 3. Bc3 Bxc3 4. e5
1. h7 be5
2. f4 bh8
3. Bc3! Bxc3
4. e5! and the pawn promotes
White wins with
1. h7 Be5 2.f4 Bg7 3. Bc3 (3..Bxc3 e5 and the h pawn queens) Kf7 4. h8Q Bxh8 5. Bxh8 and winning this end game is easy
1. h7 Be5
2. f4! Bg7
3. Bc3! Bxc3
4. e5 and black can’t stop the pawn from queening.
1. h7 Be5 2.f4 Bg7
and then maybe f5, Bh4, and K h1-h2-h3
Of course it’s a win !
1.h7 Be5 2.f4! Bh8 or f6 3.Bc3! Bxc3 4.e5 and the promotion is unavoidable !
1.g7 be5
2.f4 bh8
3.Bc3 BxB
4.e5

Bc3 should enable white to queen the pawn on the h-file. White wins.
h7, f4, B-c3 wins for white
I think 1. h7 Be5 2. f4 Bg7 3. Bc3 should do the deal:
3. … Bxc3 4. e5 shuts out the bishop with a queen coming;
3. … Kf7 4. h8=Q Bxh8 5. Bxh8 wins the bishop and the game here any day.
This is a nice win for White.
1. h7 1. Be5
2. f4 2. Bh8 (or any other square on that long diagonal)
3. Bc3! 3. Bxc3
4. e5, finito!
ok, the winning sequence is:
1. h7 Be5
2. f4 Bf6/g7/h8
3. Bc3 Bxc3
4. e5 Bxe5
5. fxe5
6. h8Q
jan
1.h7 Be5 2.f4 Bg7(or…Bh8,Bf6)3.Bc3 Bc3 4.e5+-.{3.Bc3 Kf8 4.h8(Q) Bh8 5.Bh8+-)
White wins by :
1.h7 Be5 2.f4 Bh8 3.Bc3 Bxc3 4.e5
1.h7 Be5 2.f4 Bg7 3.Bc3 Bxc3 4.e5 and white wins.
White should win
1. h7 Le5
2. f4 Lh8/g7/f6 (Ld4/b2/a1 3.e5 and White wins)
3. Lc3 Lc3:
4. e5 and White wins
1) h6 Be5
2)f4 Bf6
3)Be3 BXe3
4)e5 and white’s h pawn queens
1. h7 Be5 (forced) 2. f4 Bg7(best) 3. Bc3! Kf7 (3…B:c3 4. e5 and 5. h8Q) 4. h8Q B:h8 5. B:h8 and white wins.
h7, f4, Bc3, d5
Imo 1.h7 Be5 2.f4 Bh8 (if 2…Bd4 3.e5! and on next move h8=Q) 3.Bc3! (if 3…Bxc3 then also 4.e5) So now Black loses.
It is a win for white… 1. h7 – Be5, f4! – Bg7, Bc3 – Bxc3 (what else?), e5 and black cannot stop the h-pawn.
Its a hard one for me. But white can push for a win
1. h7 Be5 to stop the pawn
2. f4 Bf6/g7/h8 otherwise white can play e5 and queen the h-pawn
3. e5 with the plan of Bh4, Bf6.
3. … d6
4. Bh4?Bc3? I’m lost here.
1.h7 forcing Be5
2.f4, the bishop cant take and has to stay on the a1 h8 diagonal, so Bh8
3.Bc3, if black doesnt take, he will be down a piece, so, Bxc3
4. e5, and promotion is comming… Bxe5
5. fxe5 Kf7
6. h8=Q 1-0
Heh. Took me 2 minutes to take white to a win.
1. h7 Be5
2. f4! Bg7
3. Bc3!! and black loses his bishop. He can’t do 3… Bxc3 because 4. e5 loses. So:
3… Kf7
4. h8Q Bxh8
5. Bxh8 and white will win easily.
The first move is forced, if white is to win, since the h-pawn cannot be saved without an advance. This simplifies things considerably, but the winning line is pretty easy to see:
1. h7 Be5 (obvious)
2. f4! Bg7 (other moves fail, too)
3. Bc3! Kf7 (Bc3 4.e5 wins)
4. h8(Q)Bh8
5. Bh8 and white wins the bishop and the game as black cannot trap the bishop with e5 due to Be5 (remember f4 above).
And to tie up the last loose threads, at move 2 the moves Ba1, Bb2, Bd4 all lose to 3. e5 instantly, and Bf6 and Bh8 both lose to Bc3 still.
1. h7, Be5
2. f4, Bh8
3. Kh2
(1-0)
1. a7 Be5
2. f4 Bf6, Bg7, or Bh8
3. Bc3 Bxc3
4. e5 wins
