Marrakech International Chess Tournament
25th June to 2nd July in Marrakech, Morocco

The first Marrakech International Chess Tournament is taking place from 25th June to 2nd July in Marrakech, Morocco. Players from 23 countries registered thus far, among them are 37 Grandmasters. Nine rounds according to Swiss system will be played, with time control of 75 minutes per player.

The rich prize fund consists of – 1st: € 4,000 + trophy – 2nd: € 3,000 – 3rd: € 2,000 – 4th: € 1,500 – 5th: 1000 € – 6th: 700 € – 7th: 500 € – 8th: 350 € – 9th: 250 € – 10th: 200 €. In addition, € 1,500 is allocated for special prizes for locals, women and seniors.

On 2nd July GM Judit Polgar will play a simul on 20 boards.
