Thanks to the FEN 🙂
Kg2,Qf3,Ra1,Rh4,Bb3,Be3,Nh5,a4,e4,g3,g5
Kg8,Qa6,Rb8,Rd8,Bc8,Be7,Nc3,Nc7,a5,b4,c5,e6,f7,g7
Good luck!
FEN only keeps them away.
I think Rah1 is winning, but there are a lot of lines.
Qe2 Qxe2 Nxe2 seems as good a line as any for Black. Nf6+ on gxf, g6 seems to win in all lines, but I might have missed some.
But it doesn’t have the feeling of a study – so maybe there is something more forcing. Perhaps Nf6 first.
Until we have a better solution we can use This Diagram
Cheers!
is this a BLINDFOLD problem? I don’t understand how you guys are solving this. I don’t see the board at all. I think this type of problem is just too hard for our level.
I don’t understand the comments — I see the board just fine. Don’t you guys use Firefox?
1 Nf6+! has to be the move. The king can’t run to f8 or else Rh8++. So black can capture with pawn or bish.
1 … PxN
2 g5xf6 and now
2 … BxP
3 QxB Qe2+
4 Kh1 and black is out of checks and gets mated. Or
2 … Qe2+
3 QxQ NxQ
4 PxB Rd1
5 Rg4+! K-any
6 Rh1++
So, Black must play
1 (Nf6+) BxP
2 Rah1 (not PxB? or …Qe2+ saves the game for black)
2 … Kf8 (or else Rh8++)
3 PxB PxP (if 3…Ke8 4 Rh8+ Kd7 5 RxR KxR 6 PxP and the g-pawn queens)
4 QxP and if
4 … Qe2+
5 Bf2 Ke8
6 Re1 and the queen is lost, though black can save the rook in this variation with
6 … Bb2
7 RxQ NxR
8 Bxc5 Kd7
9 Qxf7+ and white is up.
Instead of losing the queen for rook, black can just give up the rook on d8 with
1 (Nf6+) (BxP)
2 (Rah1) (Kf8)
3 (PxB) (PxP)
4 (QxP) Ke8
5 Rh8 Kd7
6 RxR Kc6
7 Re1 to prevent …Qe2+ and white is better, but black has avoided mate but is in trouble, and his pieces are cramped, while white’s pieces are all in strong positions.
If Nf6+, black HAS to recapture with the bishop, otherwise it’s mate in 1 with Qh5.
Tvtom, I am at awe.
Well done mate!
What happend to me was that when I saw Black’s possible reply queen to e2 , I got stuck. But you just pulled all the threads together. Impressive job!
About the diagram: Yes I am using Fire fox, and you?
Best wishes
Abie
Nf6+?
