Yes, I figured that out using a board now. I wonder if average chessplayers are expected to solve this kind of composition without moving pieces. I don’t have trouble with most normal puzzles, but compositions are hard.
This one is Great but impossible. haha.
I played over the proposed solution. I can only laugh when the mate comes. what a cool neat puzzle. too difficult for me to even come close but a great puzzle none the less.
I suggest everyone play the solution on a board.

Samer, there is cxb3 ?
The c4 pawn is chopped on move 14 of the line I gave, so it is no longer there when white plays Nxb3#.
Hi dear Susan.
Well, I’m lost in this puzzle, I mean, when you take the c4 pawn, you free the c5 pawn to go on c4 and in any way I think, when you want to mate on b3 this is impossible. I must be wrong, but would you please tell us the answer? Or where can I go to see it?

The record is held now (for a legal position and not underpromoted pieces) by Chéron, but without Blathy, no one could ever fancy such long ways to checkmate…
