A. Enkhtuul Wins World School Individual Championship

IM A. Enkhtuul from Mongolia earned a gold medal with 8.5 points in girl’s U17 category at the World Schools Individual Championship 2010.

The championship was organized by the Turkish Chess Federation (TCF) in Kaiseri, Turkey on July 20-31, 2010. Over 600 chess players from 35 countries competed in the championship. There was no player from the United States as the US Chess Federatopm decided to boycott this event.

Enkhtuul was followed by Aisa Imeeva (Russia) and Emel Kaya (Turkey) who took the second and third places with 8 points respectively in that event. “There were my main competitors, Russian Aisa Imeeva and Emel Kaya from Turkey and I am so glad to win them,” said champion of World Schools Individual Championship 2010, A. Enkhtuul.

Enkhtuul qualified for the World Youth Chess Championship 2010, which will be held in Halkidiki, Greece on October 19-31, 2010.

Another Mongolian chess player CM B. Bayarmaa placed the fourth place with 6 points in girl’s U15 category.

Adrina Pachon from Columbia who grabbed a gold medal with 7 points; Ayca Fatma Durmaz (Turkey) won a silver medal and Paula Andrea Rodriguez Rueda (Columbia) took a bronze medal with 6,5 points in the U15 category.
