The 49th Ilmar Raud Memorial is organized by Viljandi CC Fellin from June 29 to July 5, 2015, at the Viljandi Sports Center, Vaksali 4 (500 meters from the bus station, by the Square of Liberty). in Viljandi, a town in southern Estonia.

The event is played in memorial of Ilmar Raud, member of the Estonian team that scored bronze at the Chess Olympiad in Buenos Aires.

The 9-round Swiss FIDE open tournament with tempo of play 90′ X 40 moves + 15′ + 30″ is a part of Kodumasinad series 2015 held by the Estonian Chess Support Organization.

The main prizes will be distributed as follows: €  1.500 + Trophy/ €  1.000 + Trophy/ €  700 + Trophy/ € 400/ € 250/ € 150/ € 100/ € 70. In additional, many category prizes will be awarded.

Last year’s winner GM Aleksej Aleksandrov (2607) from Belarus heads the field of 61 players from 7 different countries, including 8 GMs and 6 IMs.
