Young chess fans have all the right moves

THE old stereotype of chess has been broken by a young generation of chess enthusiasts.
Yesterday was round one of the 2007 Sunshine Coast Inter-Schools teams competition, involving 170 students from 16 schools.
“Teachers have read about the educational benefits. It helps with lateral thinking, maths and English,” Graeme Gardiner from Gardiner Chess explained.
