Some very bad upsets.
After criticizing Alexandra’s play yesterday it is only right I give her some credit for a very fine attacking game. If she can play more consistently like this she could deservedly retain her title.
After a poor showing in the Russian championship it’s interesting that she is the last Russian still fighting for the title.
If Alexandra retains her title it will be the second happiest day in her life. I hope she does it. She doesn’t sit on it, she goes deep into dangerous countries for the sake of their children trying to bring peace through chess. Alexandra Kosteniuk and Susan Polgar are the two biggest lights in the world of women’s chess, each doing what they can in their own way. Love you both!

My girl Koneru is still fighting… but she has a very tough match when she faces Zatonski, a US Champion!
