No Kosteniuk? What happened to the Kournikova wannabe?
Go Judit!
Simone,
She is number 6 (2515)
two points behind Xu.
I played once against her in a simul and lost quick.
Before Kramnik (and apart from Karpov for a brief period before his first match with Kasparov), you have to go all the way back to Spassky in 1972 to find a World Champion who was not also top of the Rating List.
Kramnik is certainly not made of the same stuff his 3 predecessors were.
Anand is within 4 elo of Topalov. Interesting.
I don’t understand this rating list for women. Is Susan still the #2 highest rated woman in the world or not?
She is. She’s just not active. This is the active list.
Topalov lost 16 points in Elista and 14 points in Essent, while Anand doesn’t seem to have played a single game in that period.
