World Youth Championships Begins

The World Youth Championship 2008 was officially launched at a short but spectacular opening ceremony described by many as the best they had ever seen.

Held in Vung Tau, Ba Rai, Vietnam, a total of 885 participants from 73 countries are taking part, accompanied by an equal number of officials, parents, and coaches. All continents are well represented and if including the 20 candidate masters, there are 130 titled players (3 GMs, 4 WGMs, 16 IMs, 3 WIMs, 41 FMs, 43 WFMs, 11 CMs, and 9 WCMs)!
