Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
So close at the top! A nearly insignificant 11 points seperates first place and fifth place.
The 2700’s are the new 2600’s.
That’s the truth. Back in my day there would usually be one or two players that were way ahead of the pack.
This Live Top List is now more important than the official list from FIDE. I really don’t understand why FIDE isn’t updating their list more often. Not necessarily every day, like the “Live Top List”, but at least every month. This is 2008, for God’s sake!
Oh dear! what happened to my little sister?? I was living on her glory and my old glory…hee hee…
Everyone is talking about Carlsen, but what about Ivanchuk’s +50 improvement?!
Responding to the enquiry two above, Judit P is at 2710.6 (22nd), up 1.6 but overtaken by Gashimov, Movsesian and Eljanov.
Did Kramnik retire ?
You know that Ivanchuk will be second, Carlsen third now that Aerosvit is not rated in July list- as Carlsen loses 0.4 points while Ivanchuk gains 0.5 points due to rounding!
By the way on the official July list Carlsen drops a place to 6th.
Carlsen is amazing and Ivanchuk is amazing too!
