The 2nd World Chess Open tournament will take place 1-3 January, 2010, in Leon, Spain. 45 titled players, of which 17 GMs will collect for this year’s edition of the tournament.

The 2010 Wolrd Chess Open is 9 rounds FIDE Swiss tournament with 2 games friday, 2 games saturday morning, 3 games saturday afternoon, and 2 games sunday morning. Every game has time control 35 minutes and 3 additional seconds by move. The total prize fund is over 30,000 eur.
